My dogs are all indoor housepets, but in the summer, weather permitting they go outside during the day, they have huge, nice shady kennels that are partially decked in. They have plenty of space to run and play. The dog houses provide shelter in case it starts raining, they all come inside at night, none of my dogs sleep outside
